I have only in a few recent years back moved from the belief of punishment towards positive restitution instead. I believe punishment had its place but we can also see many of the negative results it creates in society and believe that at least for the most part, does not solve much if anything at all.
I think this school is making an excellent move, and their results speak for themselves.
Yep, you heard that properly. Instead they have a Mindful Moment Room, a brightly colored” oasis of solace” that gazes about as far as you can get from the windowless detention areas typically used to punish disorderly teenagers.
It’s part of an after-school programme called Holistic Me, an initiative that educates babes to practice attentive reflection and breathing practises while encouraging them to talk to behavioral professionals.

The programme works in partnership with a neighbourhood non-profit “ve called the” Holistic Life Foundation, and research results thus far have been very impressive.
In reality, since first taking part in the programme a couple years ago, Robert W. Coleman hasn’t issued a single suspension.
