Tracking Your Feelings of Gratitude is Like a Battery That Recharges You

I’ve previously discussed how feeling appreciative and recognizing all the positive things in our lives is a terrific approach to boosting our overall happiness. Developing the habit of expressing and experiencing greater appreciation is one of the most effective methods to boost your happiness.

It’s fine to make a resolution to be more grateful and happier. Putting it into action is a little more difficult than saying it. A journal, thankfully, is a simple little tool that will help you stay on track.

A gratitude diary is a brilliant thing that can have an unexpectedly large beneficial impact on your life. The best part is that you don’t need anything extravagant. Take out a notebook and a pen, or power up your computer and open a word document.

The concept is straightforward. You should spend a few minutes each day writing about the numerous things you are grateful for. Consider everything that made you joyful during the day. By making a list of all the good things in your life, you are bringing them to the forefront of your consciousness.

That alone will lift your spirits and make you feel happier and more accomplished.

It’s quite wonderful to see how far you’ve progressed and been able to see it in black and white over the last several weeks, months, and even years.

As you begin to read about the events and individuals for whom you were grateful in the past, you will begin to recapture those emotions and feelings. Consider your gratitude diary to be sort of a happiness battery.

You’re keeping your happy feelings in an easy-to-access format so you may access and relive them whenever you choose—what a powerful concept.
