It’s easy to point the finger at others and blame them for the negative things in your life. “If only this person wasn’t so hard to work with,” you think. “If only that person didn’t always let me down.”
A lot of things bug us throughout life, but nothing like those with who we interact the most: people. Although many things can upset us, we tend to blame other people the most, whether we think they are the cause of our misery, frustration, or suffering.
Blaming others is a way of pretending you don’t have any control over your own life. But the truth is, you are 100% responsible for the choices you make and the actions you take. We all like to think that we can change other people but the truth is we cannot change anyone.
But you have to realize something, as much as the actions of others are not always what we’d like to see, you do, however, have the power to change yourself.
The truth is that change doesn’t happen on its own. It’s not about finding the perfect time, place, or situation, or waiting until you feel more motivated, inspired, or ready. Change is something you choose, and it happens when you make a decision to improve your life.
This is the true power of the human being. We are always changing.
I can make the best out of a bad situation
I can change myself for the better
I can turn a problem into a solution
I can be determined and never give up
It’s convenient to point your fingers. It’s easy to blame. It’s easy to get mad. But at the end of the day, we become what we spend our energy on.
The world is filled with situations that upset us and we do not know what to do in them. We are filled with the frustration and sadness that others bring into our lives.

But we have the power to turn this around. We have the power to change circumstances. When it hurts us and we want someone to make it stop, we blame it on the situation and on other people, and this is usually because it’s the easiest thing to do.
When we feel lonely and we want someone to give us a form of human connection, we constantly look for external reasons and excuses and what we end up doing is placing the blame on the environment, the culture, and on other people. We don’t stop for a moment and think “hey, maybe something in me needs to change for a change.”
The truth is, that the world is filled with people who will give much energy and time from their own lives to make your life miserable. The world is filled with situations and things and attitudes that make our life difficult. No doubt about that.
But the world cannot change us, not directly anyway. Not when we realize that it ultimately comes down to us. We have the power to change the conditions that surround us. We have the power to change the circumstances that surround us. If you are dead-set and uninterested in changing something in yourself, the world cannot change you, but you have to change yourself.
