Moods spread like wildfire. You’ll feel down if you’re around a lot of unhappy and depressed individuals. If, on the other hand, you happen to be in a gathering of cheerful individuals, you can’t help but smile.
If you want to boost your own level of happiness, it makes sense to surround yourself with positive individuals.
Does this imply that you should exclude everybody who isn’t ecstatically joyful from your life? Obviously not. We all have significant people in our lives that we love and appreciate, even if they don’t always have the most positive attitude in life.
Furthermore, we all go through ups and downs in our life. It would be awful if we shunned loved ones during difficult times.
Instead, I recommend that you observe who the happy individuals in your life are. Who are the cheerleaders who will cheer you on no matter what, and who will make you smile every time you see them?
Take attention of those who are upbeat, whether they are friends, relatives, or mere acquaintances. Create a network of joyful people to whom you may turn when you’re feeling bad.
Similarly, you should be cautious of the negative and unhappy people around you and how they affect your own attitude. When you’re going through a rough patch and fighting with your own happiness, it may be best to avoid people who you know would pull you down even further.
Those are the times when you should spend time with your cheerleading squad or your happy support system. Again, this does not imply that you must completely exclude people from your life. Simply pay attention to their energy and how it affects you, and spend time with them accordingly.
When you’re happy, don’t be hesitant to share and spread that happiness. Smiling, laughing, and having a good time is contagious. When you’re not feeling your best, spread the joy and soak it up from the joyful people around you.
Call that friend who can quickly make you feel better and tell the people who love and care about you about the concept of contagious happiness.
Let them know when you need a pick-me-up and then return the favor. Because, let’s be honest, we all have days when we’re happier and in a better mood than others.
Make it a practice to encourage one another and build that happiness support system. It will make a significant difference in your life and the lives of others around you.
