Communicate
First and foremost, you need to communicate what you are feeling with your partner.
Bottling it up inside will lead to resentment and possibly anger in the future.
You need to speak openly but without blame or name-calling. Explain how you feel but try not to accuse.
The goal should be to work this issue out, not to make your partner feel bad.

Don’t nag
If you are feeling under-appreciated, you need to have a real conversation, not nag or throw in comments in passing.
This will lead to more hurt feelings and distance between the two of you.
Don’t bring it up “as a joke” or in an argument.
This leads to more hurt feelings for everyone involved.
