Too often, I look at a situation through my own views and thoughts, and I believe this does not serve me well when I am looking at another person who I want to change.
It is necessary for me to modify my view. If, after examining my views, I find that indeed I can look at this person with a new perspective then I will no longer look for them to change.
Acceptance will make me happier and I will find greater peace in the friendship. I have to look at what is important to me, and very often I find that the friendship is very important.
Thus, I can make a mindful accommodation for the other person in my life and enjoy them more.
Adopt a positive attitude toward the other person and you will find your outlook to improve significantly.
