Using Affirmations To Silence Your Inner Critic

Engaging in constant negative self-talk can make you feel like you are not good enough for anything. Using affirmations is a simple and effective way to silence that negative inner voice and boost your self esteem. Start each day by giving yourself a positive message to help you build a positive self-image.

Here are some of the statements you can tell yourself:

  • I look great
  • I am creating healthy, loving relationships
  • I accept myself just the way I am
  • Life is beautiful, and I like being a part of it
  • I am a confident and lovable person

Don’t Compare Yourself With Others

Someone somewhere in this world will always be better than you, so stop comparing yourself with others because it will only make you feel worse about yourself. Instead, examine how far you’ve come and celebrate your achievements. Focus on how you can improve yourself and become a better person every day.

Forgive Yourself and Focus On The Positive

Mistakes are not permanent reflections of who you are as a person, so don’t be too hard on yourself when you make one. Instead, forgive yourself, learn from your mistakes and focus on the good things about your life. Take a few minutes between work or school, and write down at least 3 things that you appreciate about yourself. For instance, if you’re a kind and caring person or you can make people laugh, write it down and appreciate yourself for that.

Using these tips every day will make you feel more positive about yourself, and help you build a healthy self-esteem in the long run.
